Make Your Own Bias Tape!

Learn to make bias tape at Loom!!

Bias tape is often used to finish the edges of hems, armholes, necklines, and quilts. It is necessary for sewing hong kong seams, and is also useful for creating straps & drawstrings! Virtually any sewn edge can be given a clean finish with the addition of bias tape. Pre-made bias tape is very limited in its selection of colors and patterns, but why should your creativity be limited??

Learn how to make your own custom bias tape! By the end of our two hour class you will have created 5 continuous yards of tape from the fabric of your choice, and will have mastered the use of an automatic bias tape folder. We will be practicing the application of bias tape by binding the edges of a potholder, also from the fabric of your choice. The remainder of your handmade tape will be wound onto a card and labeled, ready to use for your next project at home.
